So Lairs, me, and another friend are starting a garage band. What cover songs would be good for a band with a weezer-range male voice (high baritone, talking-style singing), 2 all-around intermediate guitarists/one of which is also a beginning/intermediate bassist, and a low intermediate drummer?

With that vocal range I'd probably recommend Fury of the Storm by Dragonforce or any Protest the Hero song. Technically both bands are very simple and good tunes to learn/play.

Most any alt rock. All the new radio rock is powerchords these days anyways.

E--------------------
B--------------------
G-------7-7-9-9-7-7
D---7-7-7-7-9-9-7-7
A---7-7-5-5-7-7-5-5
E---5-5-------------

Start off easy. There's the tab for "Wild Thing". Bass follows the root note of each chord. Drums should be easy enough to make up on the fly.

I've played guitar for 9, going on 10 years now. Was in a band for the first 8. Had to give up the band when I graduated college.
